Serious cable damage incident in the Huyton area of Liverpool

Following a serious incident in the Huyton area of Liverpool, Openreach is declaring a matter beyond our reasonable control (MBORC) event in some areas of Liverpool.

The MBORC declaration is effective from 10.29am on Tuesday 18th August 2009 and relates to an act of vandalism causing significant fire damage in one of our junction boxes in Huyton, Liverpool, resulting in the loss of service to a number of end users in parts of south Liverpool.

Openreach engineers are at the scene working to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Due to the nature of the incident, it is not possible to provide an exact timeframe as to when service will be restored to all customers.

We will continue to review this situation and will lift the MBORC as soon as service returns to normal. We will continue to update customers accordingly.

UPDATE: This issue is now resolved, we apologise for any inconvienience.
