We are currently experiencing problems with some customers who are routing over the Cable and Wireless network, for either their outbound call services or inbound (0800 / 0845 etc). This issue is effecting the entire Cable and Wireless network and can be remedied temporarily by prefixing your telephone call with 1280 which will force your call away from the effected Cable and Wireless network. We have been assured by Cable and Wireless that their engineers are currently dealing with the issue and they hope to have this resolved shortly. We apologise for any inconvienience but you should be fine to dial out using the 1280 prefix in the meantime. UPDATE 15:51 - This issue should now be resolved and you should be able to dial out as normal. We apologise for any inconvienience caused. |

Following a serious incident in the Huyton area of Liverpool, Openreach is declaring a matter beyond our reasonable control (MBORC) event in some areas of Liverpool. The MBORC declaration is effective from 10.29am on Tuesday 18th August 2009 and relates to an act of vandalism causing significant fire damage in one of our junction boxes in Huyton, Liverpool, resulting in the loss of service to a number of end users in parts of south Liverpool.
Openreach engineers are at the scene working to resolve the situation as soon as possible. Due to the nature of the incident, it is not possible to provide an exact timeframe as to when service will be restored to all customers.
We will continue to review this situation and will lift the MBORC as soon as service returns to normal. We will continue to update customers accordingly. UPDATE: This issue is now resolved, we apologise for any inconvienience.
